  • Do you need to remove cabinets and appliances when replacing your flooring?

I want to install hardwood in my kitchen. Wanted to know if it’s recommended that the appliances and cabinets be removed first?

Appliances are a must. Cabinets are optional but generally not taken out to put wood or any type flooring in. Shoe or quarter round molding is put in around the cabinets to cover the gaps left thats needed since you shouldn t put in wood up tight to cabinets or any solid fixture.

You need to clear all appliances out of the area. The cabinets can stay, unless you plan to do new cabinets or a new layout of the cabinets in the future.
